Tour Plan

Day 1: Dar es Salaam / Zanzibar – Selous (Nyerere National Park)

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar at approximately 07:00 hrs and transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Selous (Nyerere National Park), departing around 10:30 hrs. You will arrive at 11:00 hrs, where you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide.

Enjoy a short introductory game drive en route to your camp, offering your first glimpse of Selous’ pristine wilderness. Arrive at Rufiji River Camp in time for lunch, followed by a relaxing afternoon overlooking the tranquil Rufiji River.

Later in the afternoon, embark on a boat safari, one of the most serene ways to experience wildlife. Glide along the river alongside hippos and crocodiles while observing nesting birds, monitor lizards, colobus monkeys, and a rich variety of water birds. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight, set against the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Selous Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive through the vast landscapes of Selous, home to lions, leopards, African wild dogs, as well as large herds of elephants and giraffes frequently seen near the riverbanks.

Return to camp for lunch and a leisurely afternoon at rest. As temperatures cool, set out on an evening sunset game drive, when wildlife becomes more active and the golden light enhances photographic opportunities. You will return to camp as the sun sets over the Rufiji River for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Selous Game Reserve – Dar es Salaam

Begin the day with an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast at camp. After checking out, you will be transferred to Mtemere Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam, departing at approximately 11:30 hrs.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be met and transferred to your hotel or directly to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your onward international flight, concluding your memorable Selous safari experience.
