Tour Plan

Day 1 – Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning: Depart Kampala and drive west toward Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 6–7 hrs). The journey takes you through lush countryside, tea plantations, and the equator line.

Afternoon/Evening: Arrive at the park and check in to your lodge. If time allows, enjoy a short evening game drive where you may spot elephants, buffalo, and Uganda kobs.

Overnight: Lodge inside or near the park.

Day 2 – Game Drives & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Morning Game Drive: Explore the Kasenyi plains, prime for lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes, and warthogs.

Afternoon: Take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of Uganda’s highlights. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and countless waterbirds (pelicans, fish eagles, kingfishers).

Evening: Return to lodge for dinner.

Day 3 – Kalinzu Forest (Chimp Tracking) & Ishasha Game Drive

Morning: Head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for a guided chimpanzee tracking experience. Alongside chimps, you may spot colobus monkeys, baboons, and forest birds.

Afternoon: Drive south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Game drive in the sector before heading to your lodge.

Overnight: Lodge in Ishasha.

Day 4 – Ishasha Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi

Morning: Another game drive in Ishasha to increase your chances of seeing the iconic tree-climbing lions.

Midday: Drive (approx. 4 hrs) through rolling hills to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Evening: Rest and prepare for gorilla tracking.

Day 5 – Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Morning: Early start for the gorilla trekking adventure. With a ranger guide, hike through the dense Bwindi forest to find one of the habituated gorilla families. Once found, spend one magical hour observing them up close.

Afternoon: Transfer to the serene Lake Bunyonyi, known as the “Switzerland of Africa” for its terraced hills and islands.

Overnight: Lakeside lodge or resort.

Day 6 – Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo (Boat Ride)

Morning: Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, visiting some of its 29 islands and learning their stories.

Afternoon: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park (approx. 5–6 hrs).

Evening: If time allows, enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Mburo, where hippos and crocodiles are common.

Overnight: Lodge near the lake.

Day 7 – Lake Mburo Nature Walk & Game Drive → Kampala

Morning: Go on a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo, one of the few parks in Uganda where walking safaris are allowed. Expect zebras, impalas, giraffes, and birdlife up close.

Optional: Short game drive before departure.

Afternoon: Drive back to Kampala (approx. 4–5 hrs), marking the end of the safari.
